Banana and Apple Smoothie

The South African tradition of eating fruit is well-established, but try drinking your fruit for a quick pick-me-up. A good tip, if you have slightly over-ripe bananas, freeze them. They are ideal frozen in a smoothie.



  • 1 small sharp knife
  • small chopping board
  • orange squeezer
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • food processor with steel blade
  • 4 glasses


  • 2 apples peeled and cored
  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled, frozen or fresh
  • 1 orange, squeezed
  • 1 cup (250 ml) plain double cream yoghurt
  • 1 cup (250 ml) full cream milk
  • 4 T (60 ml) Ina Paarman’s Lemon Flavour Cheesecake Mix
  • ± ½ cup (125 ml) ice blocks

Blend everything together until smooth. Serve.
