You will need
Cassis Black Current Liqueur
1 bottle chilled sparkling wine (we used a sparkling rose)
Use only a dash of cassis in each glass (less than a teaspoon). More liqueur will make it too sweet.
Pouring the liqueur into the glass first, allows it to mix naturally with the sparkling wine when it is added just before serving.
Variation – Non Alcoholic
You can easily transform the kir into a non-alcoholic drink. Use grenadine instead of cassis and sparkling apple juice instead of sparkling wine.
