Stewed Dried Fruit
250 g mixed dried fruit
2 cups (500 ml) of boiling water
1 Rooibos tea bag
2 T (30 ml) brown sugar
1 cinnamon stick
½ t (2.5 ml) Ina Paarman’s Seasoned Sea Salt
a strip of naartjie peel
Place the dried fruit in a small pot, add boiling water and tea bag.
Leave to draw and soak for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
Add the sugar, cinnamon stick, Seasoned Sea Salt and naartjie peel.
Simmer until the fruit is soft, about 15 minutes.
Serve warm as a side dish.
